Identity Providers for SAML SSO

What are they?

A system entity that creates, maintains and manages identity information for principals while providing authentication services to relying applications within a federation or distributed network.

In relation to SSO, it is a system entity that issues authentication assertions in conjunction with the SSO profile of the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML). Essentially, an IdP is a trusted provider that lets you use SSO to access other websites. It reduced password fatigue and provides better security by decreasing a potential attack.

There are a variety of Identity Providers. We as PostBeyond can work with a number of different providers, depending on the customer’s needs. Reach out to your CSM for more information about what's possible.
